Nutrition Counseling
Purpose of Nutrition Counseling

The San Francisco Nutrition Clinic aims to provide personalized nutrition therapy to improve or maintain your good health, or enhance your physical and mental performance. A registered dietitian is the most qualified and appropriately trained nutritionist-expert to take into account your entire medical history and create a personalized plan with you. Medical nutrition therapy is usually completed over a series of appointments. Some of the things you will do during these appointments can include:

-
Share and explore your current diet/practices/food beliefs
-
Learn how nutrition affects (positively or negatively) your physical performance and/or disease/condition
-
Discuss and set individualized nutrition and fitness goals with the guidance of a registered dietitian
-
Develop a personalized meal plan, if needed and desired
-
Learn skills and techniques that will enable you to make needed changes (i.e. label reading, how to balance meals to feel satisfied)
-
Explore what may be holding you back from making the necessary changes and learn techniques to overcome these obstacles
-
Have an opportunity to have your questions answered

"I am a very busy professional in San Francisco and don't have a lot of time to plan and prepare meals. Norae Ferrara showed me, through a short series of one-on-one nutrition counseling sessions, how to make changes that not only lost me weight, but also lowered my cholesterol. Her nutrition advice fit into my life without me missing a step."
