Dear Dietetic Student,
I understand that deciding where to apply for your dietetic internship, and what to do with your dietetic degree once you complete it, can be a mentally and emotionally challenging process. But it doesn't have to be if you know what you want. By creating a clear vision of your dietetics career--who you want to be and what you will stand for--you allow the process of being an understudy to serve you in achieving your goals. Wear your vision proudly, and let no one tell you it is impossible or that you can't do it. It is all possible. After all, a wise man once said, “What the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve."
If your values and goals are consistent with the SFNC mission and philosophy and the Community Giving campaign mission, and you have a strong interest in individual medical nutrition therapy counseling, the SFNC will find a place for you to come and observe, learn, and/or participate in our activities and counseling sessions. We are currently accepting 4 students/interns per year.
To participate in the SFNC activities and learn from Norae Ferrara, RD, please send your resume to me at email@example.com.

Norae thanks Jeannette Newman-Velez of CRP-WIC in Sacramento, and Scott Brown of Kaiser Permanente for providing an environment for her to study under other dietitians and volunteer prior to applying for and completing her dietetic internship at San Francisco State University.
